| Module content | NLB 311 and NLB 312 are presented over a period of 21 days as one integrated module. Both modules are aimed at students of wildlife management and veterinary sciences. These study programs offer an exciting, hands-on, in-depth educational experience, taking students behind the scenes in the wildlife field in Southern Africa. The training takes part during a camping and lodging expedition. Students interact with wildlife biologists, rangers, veterinarians and researchers working in the field, giving them an insight into the successes and problems associated with conservation from both an ecological and veterinary perspective. Participants also meet and learn from pioneers in game capture and those actively involved in the field of wildlife veterinary science on a day-to-day basis. The students also participate in actual game capture operations. Students also study and observe the role that veterinarians play at a wildlife rehabilitation centre, a reptile park and a rare-species breeding ranch.
